Guild Challenges 2007-2008

AQS Ultimate Guild Challenge - Due March 2008
The theme for our guild challenge is “My Checkered Past” which will be a self portrait that must contain a checkerboard element somewhere in the design of the quilt. The term self portrait may be interpreted in any way the quilter sees fit.
  • All designs must be original and cannot be from a pattern or kit that has been sold commercially.
  • Quilts must have been completed after May 1, 2005 and will be turned in at the March 2008 meeting of UTQG.
  • Sizes of the quilts will be 36" wide and 45" long plus or minus 1". Quilts will be hung in a vertical/portrait orientation.
  • Quilt should consist of three layers, held together by hand or machine stitching. Edges should be bound in some way.
  • Quilt must be a single unit and cannot be framed with wood, metal, etc. A 4” (finished) rod pocket for hanging must be sewn at the top of the quilt back per AQS regulations.
  • Quilt must have a label sewn on the back with the maker’s name and quilt title, date of creation, and Uncommon Threads Quilt Guild.
  • Only one entry per person.

Eight entries will be selected by popular vote of the members of the Uncommon Threads Quilt Guild. Entrants must complete and sigh an official AQS entry form which will be provided to those chosen at the March Meeting. Proper photography of the quilts to be submitted to AQS per the regulations and mailing of entry by required date will be the responsibliliy of the challenge chairman.
