free large lidded buckets

Anyone interested in large lidded buckets with handles. They stack very nicely. I have 4 or 5 right now.  I really would rather not put them in the trash.  They would make great containers for dying fabric, holding pet food, mop bucket, etc....
Let me know and I'll bring them to the meeting Tuesday.

The buckets are about 5 gallon rectangular.  I'm getting some smaller ones too. probably 3 to 4 gal.  They are the tidy cat scoop containers.  I go through them regularly.

Karen, I'm interested! Sounds like they'd be great for horsey stuff, too! I'll email you....

Paula, really, you can use them for your horses!?!  I have about a dozen of the same, but these have plastic handles.  Strong enough for 40lbs of kitty litter.

I've switched to Arm and Hammer because they come in cardboard containers and still have that essential clumping action my kitties and I need so badly.  I feel less guilty about the cardboard container because I had no idea what I was going to do with all those buckets.  I am already using about a dozen around the yard for various gardening duties.

LMK if you want mine too.

Thanks, Christine! I'll ask around at the barn to see if anyone else would like some.

Yes, we can use them for all kinds of things. I'm wanting them for storing food/vitamin supplements. We can also use them for storing wraps, bandages, brushes, etc. Everything at the barn is dusty, so lidded containers help keep things clean.

Good to know!!

Also - the kitty litter that we use that comes in the 40 lb. horrible, earth-killing plastic containers (Fresh Step?) is changing over to more sustainable packaging.  Either heavy paper bag or cardboard - I can't remember. I'm very excited!!

There's a lady with the Project Greenfork (Margo, 901-292-1700) who needs those bins for small scale composting.

Thanks go whoever started this thread - nice to know that there are many places for these non-recyclable plastic bins!!
